Saunders Beach is a residential suburb approximately north〔(Beach Management Plan for Saunders Beach - Introduction: Saunders Beach ), accessed 10 June 2008.〕 of the Townsville, Queensland, Australia. The Saunders Beach community is situated just south-east of the mouth of Althaus Creek, the beach itself stretching approximately 〔(Discover Thuringowa: Northern Beaches ), accessed 10 June 2008.〕 further south-east to the mouth of Black River.
At the 2006 Census, Saunders beach consisted of 407 residents,〔(The New Townsville City: Townsville State Suburbs ), accessed 9 June 2008.〕 of which are spread across 200 dwellings〔(Beach Management Plan for Saunders Beach - Introduction: Saunders Beach ), accessed 10 June 2008.〕 (as stated by Thuringowa Council in 2004).
